What is the Temple of Zen?
Temple of Zen is a collection of articles/data gathered into one database. It can be compared to a search engine like google with the difference that this site only indexes data per user submission. In order to be part of this community all we ask for you is to simply register an account at our site. As a member you have the ability to comment on other members as well as subscribing to certain sites and bookmarking favorite authors or articles, and of course the ability to submit your own site!
What's the use of becoming a member?
On the web there are a lot of talented writers, coders and graphic artists. Our aim is to gather people together into one community where everyone can meet. With the addition of our forums it can serve as a hub where lots can be exchanged. Temple of Zen can also be used to boost your site's visitor rate. Submitting your site here just means there's one more place on the web where people can find out about your site. In contrast to standard search engines, we actually show care about our content and users. It's a win, win situation submitting your site can be nothing but profitable!
How does it work?
Like any other search engine Temple of Zen spiders content from its members. However we do not include full articles on our site, we only show a little bit of preview content here at our site. All articles will be linked back to it's original source (your site). That means that including your site here will not cause any decrease your site's visitors.
However contrary to normal search engines, Temple of Zen utilizes RSS feeds to gather it's content. We've chosen to do so because we only want spider content that is meant to be adapted. So if you were to have a site where you write reviews as well as about your personal life, you could choose to feed us only the review content of your site. Many of today's blogging tools like wordpress, blogger.com etc. already have RSS features built in. So submitting the link to your RSS feed is really all you have to do to make your content appear on our site as well. Once you submit new content on your site it will only be a matter of minutes until it appears on our site as well. The most recent content of our members is always featured on our frontpage!
I see that other uses have special icons as logo, I just have the default globe, why is that?
Our site automatically parses your favicon and uses it as logo for your site. Adding a logo to your site is simple enough, just create one and drop that file named favicon.ico in your site's root. Not only will that give you a nice logo here but also in your own browser bar at your own site :).
